Carriff Corporation Inc., which manufactures with only
the latest state-of-the art high-speed machinery, specializes in the
development and production of seamless, tubular-knit fabrics for a
variety of industrial, commercial, and consumer applications. Carriff’s
fabrics are available in a number of sizes, knits and yarns. Carriff is
also a distributor of Non-Woven (lay-flat) fabrics.
Carriff was formed in 1992 and opened for business on
January 1, 1993. At that time, Carriff’s main product was circular-knit
drainage fabric, which is used as a filter medium with corrugated,
perforated drainpipe. Trademarked Drain-Sleeve®, the sock-like
sleeve fits snugly over the outside of the pipe to permit water to enter
the pipe, while keeping out sand and sediment which would clog the pipe
and eventually lead to drainage failure. Applications include
agricultural, highway-edge, commercial and residential construction,
golf courses, recreational fields and other water management situations.
These products may be purchased from quality pipe
manufacturers as well as in retail quantities from most home improvement
centers such as Home Depot, Lowe’s, Ace Hardware and others.
Drain-Sleeve®, Aqua-Sleeve®, Sock® and Soc® are Carriff Corporation Inc.
registered trademarks.
Since 1995, Carriff has continued to develop other
circular-knit products. For example, Carriff now supplies Absorbent
manufacturers with fabric which is used as the “skin” for absorbent
materials which soak up petrochemical and hazardous fluid spills both on
land and water. Carriff supplies most major U.S. Absorbent
manufacturers. Carriff also markets Aqua-Sleeve® – a thicker,
circular-knit pile fabric that is used in testing in water-monitoring
wells – and Paint Filter, which is used to strain dense liquids
such as dyes and latex, and to cover robotic paint-spraying equipment.
Over the years Carriff fabrics have been used for a wide
variety of other purposes, such as swimming pool filters, strainers in
winemaking, meat bags, and for crafts such as rocket covers and doll
casings. Carriff’s newest product to come to market in March 2002 is a
cheesecloth fabric, which is primarily used as an automotive
polishing cloth.
Carriff’s Non-Woven fabrics include a high quality
0.5-ounce material used mainly in construction applications such as soil
separation, septic covers and trench wrap. Other applications include
landscaping cloth, barriers, and soil erosion control materials. Also
available is a 1.3-ounce Graveless Leachbed Fabric (GL Fabric).
Recently Carriff’s non-woven fabric has moved into the
sewing industry, which appreciates the low cost and the durability
of the fabric for pattern making, embroidery backing and interfacing.
This fabric, along with all Carriff’s fabrics, is available from
Carriff’s website.
Now available is a Boot Liner fabric of a much
higher quality than what is presently available in the North America
market. Patented technology allows the new fabric to be more
esthetically pleasing, more comfortable, and more profitable for the
boot manufacturer.
Since 1998 Carriff has been registered to ISO 9001:2000, which
is a prerequisite in many export markets. And in 2001 The American
Society for Testing & Materials – ASTM - published D 6707, a new
“Standard Specification for Circular-Knit Geotextile for Use in
Subsurface Drainage Application.” Both these achievements attest to
Carriff’s quality performance.
